Hey Don, As always enjoy your videos. Wil last week ,I tried building my first rock or should as large boulder.Setup saw horses with a 4x4 sheet of 3/4 plywood covered with plastic. I took 2 large black garbage bags and filled them with newspaper and empty plastic bottles and covered them with chicken wire I had ,and shaped them . I had to fill some areas with rolled up bits of paper and plastic bags to save on material. I mixed my cement with your mix and covered it with my first layer. I did have some trouble, the first layer took very long to dry not sure why ,except mybe it was the latex mix. I had to remove some areas because they didn't seem to dry.I then use a bag of store bought mix of mortor and covered the whole rock. That was dry over night. Since ,I am building it at my home in Va. I am back home here, it will have more then enough time to setup. Next will be the finishing ,can't wait to get into that. Do you think my problem was the latex? Thanks Don, and Happy Holidays.

Hello Don,
I too, wish to thank you for your time spent making the faux rock videos. I have had some difficulty finding some of the things you suggest to use in the mix. After several trips to Lowe's and Home Depot and hours on the internet, I found the items in Oklahoma at directcolors.com. I'm hoping perlite will work and the only place I have been able to locate it is through a nursery wholesale business. Love your work!

Hi Don,
Thanks for an interesting web site. I've been doing some online research after stopping to watch a snapping turtle lay her eggs - right beside the bike path that I take to work. What a gift to be able to see things like this. I thought I might be able to time it so that I could be around when the eggs hatch but have discovered that the time from laying to hatching can vary quite a bit. Guess I'll have to hope that they make it, that the nest isn't disturbed by an animal and that they get across the bike path safely.
